Bill Gates Donates $500,000 To A Local Jacksonville Charity

What: Bill Gates, philanthropist and founder of Microsoft is donating $500,000 to Sponsored by Grace, a local charity that exists to invest, grow, and empower the next generation. This donation will be used to remodel an existing dilapidated building into the Sponsored by Grace headquarters. Ron Armstrong, executive director of Sponsored by Grace and Bill Gates will be hosting a press conference today to provide more details.
When: February 19, 2020 at 3 p.m.
Where: 123 Cleveland Avenue Jacksonville, Florida
Why: The donation will be used to complete improvements to the headquarters which will be used to provide a safe space for people in the 32209-zip code to come gather and learn. It will also be the new host site for SBG’s Empowerment Program and the programs they will be able to create with the availability of more space.
